Once you've created a profile, you can find other users on the site that you already know or would like to collaborate with. When you've entered data into your profile, such as skills or city of residence, you can find other users who entered similar data just by clicking on that link in your profile. Inviting users is as easy as just clicking the link on their profile or in their listing on a search page.
Users in your network can have access to your more personal information if you choose. You can choose to display your email address and IM accounts with them. Other users in your network can also see your status on these IM accounts. This information can also be accessed offline very easily through a virtual business card users can download. This contains the most relevant information about you and can be easily imported into Address Book, Outlook, or Thunderbird.
